By MikMarch from Lander, WY on 08/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just completed a 20 mile, 5 day backpacking trip in the Bighorn Mtns. of WY with these socks. Actually, I used these socks for the first 14 miles, and they were wonderful! Never once were my feet a problem or concern; which is how it should be while backpacking. Then, I changed on day 4 to another pair of Smartwools that were made for snowboarding/skiing. Needless to say, I started "noticing" my feet! On the last day, upon arriving at our truck, I had some serious hot spots going on... I know I would NOT have had these with the hiking socks I started out with!! I will get a 2nd pair for sure!
By Gretchen from Asheville, NC on 08/11/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Stylish, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: SmartWool socks are by far the most comfortable socks I've ever worn. Nothing else compares to their comfort and ability to wick away moisture, especially on long hikes.
