By The Rooster from Sausalito, California on 11/26/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Flexible, Lightweight, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these to get me through having my Danner's re-soled... But they may take a close spot near my first pair I grab to hit the trail.
Lightweight, comfortable, and the promote a sense of stability in the step. I treated mine with Nikwax to increase the durability, but it also makes them easier to keep clean (dust is the killer for boot longevity. Little dirt crystals grind away with every step).
They fit well at the stated size. If you have a tendency to bulk up with socks, 1/2 size larger might be a consideration.
Lacing them was a hassle, but it's not something you do everytime you wear them. Also, and socks play a role here too, they're just a trifle warm - on warm days. Other than that, a great boot, at a very good price.
