By Matt S. from Kingston, RI on 04/13/2009 Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For the money, a very good all-around trail shoe. I found these run large, and are a little wide near the toes. I tried to gauge my size off my last pair of trail shoes (North Face) which are 10's and fit well. I had to exchange my size 10 Asolo and am very happy in a size 9. (I found the 9.5 even to roomy).
Bought a 2nd pair two weeks after 1st By T Mac from Houston, TX on 04/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Shock-Absorbent Cons: Ankle area tall rubbing Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, At The Gym, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Gym Rat, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Cons - the ankle area of the shoe contacts ankle due to height, creating some rubbing. Not a deal killer.
Pros - bought a 2nd pair two weeks after purchasing first because of killer price for the quality of product. Toe area plenty of room for my D sized foot. Heel fit excellent no movement. Have to wear for a while to determine durability. Have owned Asolo products (boots)in the past and have been very satisfied! Do have to keep away from fires if shoes/boots use adhesives no matter what brand.

By Tryingtograbaminute from Kentucky on 03/17/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these for my husband for recreational trail walking and general wear. He says they are comfortable. He dependably wears a size 8 with a medium to wide width. These shoes were true to size for him. They are attractive (although the sunflower color is a bit bright)and well-priced.

I liked them so much I bought a second pair.
By PCT Bound from San Pedro, CA on 02/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a well made shoe, very breathable. Very grippy traction, and seems like it would take quite a bit of abuse on rough trails. However, as others have commented, the cut around the ankle is too high soit will probably create hot spots and chafing across tendons and under ankle bones. And while the lentgh and width are true to size, the shoe doesn't hold the foot snugly around the middle of my medium foot like I would expect from a trail shoe and my foot slides forward too easily. If you have a higher volume foot and fit something like the Vasque clarion well this would probably be a good fit. Since they breathe well I'm keeping them to wear out training for the PCT. I imagine when they are a couple months old and beat up a bit they'll be a lot more comfortable. I kinda like the ugly yellow color.
By wh from Chicago on 01/21/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been using these on the snowy streets of Chicago -- post shoveling -- and they are great. Stable, good support, good traction. The upper comes slightly higher than a typical shoe and might be uncomfortable for some, but I find them to be great.
