Great deal on a winter boot By Outdoor Winter Guy from Fox Point, WI on 09/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Writing this in early September, it's hard to comment on cold weather performance. However, the 400g Thinsulate should perform well, and makes for a nice, flexible boot upper - something that makes getting in/out of a passenger car a lot easier. As others have mentioned, the foot bed offers good support, and the waterprof lowers should be good in the snow

better built than I expected By Muley Mad Man from Dallas, TX on 08/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was very impressed with the fit and construction of the boots the moment I put them on. I have weak arches, and the support in these boots is tremendous- not the flat rubber bottom I'm come to expect in a pack. They fit much more like hikers with a high upper than a traditional pack. Cannot speak on the performance in snow yet, but I trust the sorel name, and from the design of the built in gaiters, and the insulation ratings, I'm confident that they'll serve me well if we get a little snow on our hunts in the rockies this fall.
