By dr no from boston, ma on 07/10/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Light and breathable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Field work Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these boots for field work in the forest, rain or shine. They are very stable, have excellent support, and are relatively lightweight. One of the biggest perks I have noted is that these boots are very breathable and my socks are never wet at the end of the day, even if the rest of my clothes are sweaty.
Tough for my skinny heels By outdoor enthusiast from Utah on 07/06/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I originally ordered my normal size (8.5) despite STP's recommendation to order a 1/2 size smaller, due to other reviewers. But, they were too big. Size 8 fit perfectly. My guess is that a 1/2 size smaller is good if your feet are on the narrow side. The boots felt great, but put some good-sized blisters on both my heels, on my first hike out. That's pretty typical for me - it's hard to get stiff boots that fit my narrow heel. Seem like great boots. I'm going to try thicker socks. I'd like to make them work.
By h from Gainesville, FL on 06/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my 2nd pair of Asolo FSN 70 Gore-Tex boots. The first pair lasted me 1.5 years, I wore them for work 5 days a week through snow, mud, swamp, prairie, rough terrain - you name it, and was sad to finally throw the old pair out when the traction wore almost completely off and the soles started coming off. Boots are VERY comfortable except that they are a bit narrow, so I have to wear thin socks. They are very durable - the front of the soles (the outer toe cover) finally started coming off after about a year of wear, but still remained waterproof. If these boots are still around when I need a new pair in another year or two, I will definitely invest in another pair.

My first pair......and won't be my last! By NC Hiker girl from Greensboro, No. Carolina on 06/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Non-slip sole Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first pair or Asolo's. (Have been a Lowa girl last 3 pair). Comfort right out of the box. I bought them for a 12 day backpack in the Sierra, and will also wear for local day hikes here in NO.Carolina. Not bulky and fits my foot nicely,( I'm an 8 1/2 and that's what I ordered) allows for flexibility, but with good traction. I have heard great things about this boot from others as well.

By JD from Gloucester, ma on 10/27/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am between a 6 and 6.5 in shoes. I have to pick between "tennis toe" or "clown shoe" fit. I purchased the size 6 and it fits perfect. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. I popped them on and took the dog to the park for a 2 mile hike. They were great on the slippery granite rocks along the ocean as well as the gravel trail. My last hiking boots were triple the price and not nearly as comfortable.
Really is best backpacking boot By Alana from Smithers, BC on 10/19/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Boots were comfortable right out of the box! Brought them on a 77km backpacking trip, I couldn't have asked for more... no blisters, comfy, breathable... not completely waterproof when submerged in water but is great in the rain or mud.
By Can Kicking Kiwi from New Zealand on 10/13/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When I got these boots I thought they were to narrow but after wearing for a couple of hrs they felt great, they are the best boots I have had, great support and comfort and with enough style to wear to town as well as on the horse and on the farm (ranch) I love them.
Great comfortable shoes, great price By Rachel from Denver, Colorado on 09/13/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I think these are great boots for ankle support. I mostly wear them on trails with more rocks to climb or steep slopes. For simple flat trails I wear the Asolo hiking shoes. These boots are water resistant, give great ankle support, and comfortable on day one (went on an 8-mile hike first use with no blisters). I would recommend them to anyone who needs more ankle support on longer or more difficult trails.
