Not wide enough for its britches By None from Sierra Vista, AZ on 09/29/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The size is right, but for the width. There is plenty of toe "wiggle room" but the wide sized that I bought is barely adequate and feet expand under heavy use as in hiking with a light pack or long distance trekking.
Asolo boots: pretty darn good By Tigre from Los Angeles on 09/17/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used the boots for moderate hiking in heavy rainfall and the tongue of the boots allowed in a little bit of water. Not too much of a problem for just one full day of hiking but if I was anticipating a backpacking trip through streams and rain I would bring a different pair of boots. I also use the boots for full days of construction work on uneven terrain and they were very comfortable and supportive. They are a good value and I'm pleased that they are not made in China.
