Havent tried the cold yet - its pretty thin though and kept me warm on a 20 celcius night.
By Ted the Visionary from Ringgold, GA on 10/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Roomy, Stows Easily Cons: Hood needs a draw string, Poor Hood Design Best Uses: 3 Season Camping, 40 F to 70 F camping, Backpacking, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore wool socks, thermals, and still felt cold at 30 F
Has a thin layer of cushioning/insulation for the bottom section of the bag
Hood doesn't have a draw string; used a fleece jacket to block the cold air
Materials are very comfortable and plush, but yet compact-able = very lightweight and cozy
Light, affordable down bag By Cory from PA on 10/23/2009 Pros: Adjustable Hood, Comfortable, Lightweight, Price, Warm Best Uses: 3 Season Camping, Backpacking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When I reviewed a bunch of sleeping bags (that can get quite pricey) I decided on this Lafuma Warm n Light 800. It packs really small, is quite warm (although I haven't used it below the upper 40's) and as a closeout was as affordable as a heavy bulky poly fill bag from my local army surplus store. So far, it's worked nicely for me on overnight backpacking trips in PA and the Adirondacks.
By Alpinist from Seattle, WA on 10/21/2009 Best Uses: 3 Season Camping, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This bag weighs way more than claimed. They say it is 800 grams (1 3/4 lbs) but it weighs 1000 grams (2 1/4 lbs) with the stuff sack. The stuff sack that comes with the bag weighs 4 oz, and you can throw it away and buy a 1 oz stuff sack, and get the total weight down to 2 lbs 1 oz. Also, it is NOT 800 fill down as some of the STP materials say. The fill is 10% feathers, and the remaining down is at best 650 fill--total loft is only about 2 1/2", even after putting the bag in the drier for 20 minutes. If it will take you down to 30 degrees it will only be because you sleep warm and the fit of the bag is quite tight. [...] Don't buy this if you are looking for a high-end bag that is both warm and really light.
By HikeRx from Knoxvegas, TN on 10/20/2009 Pros: Adjustable Hood, Comfortable, Lightweight, Roomy, Stows Easily, Warm Best Uses: 3 Season Camping, Backpacking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This bag is super compact and comes with a great little stuff sack. This first time I used it we hiked in and camped in temps that got down to 20 degrees. Everything except my toes stayed very warm so I imagine this bag would have been perfect had we not been surprised by the weather that weekend.
At this price point, the bag is a steal.
