Nice boot, but sizing is elusive.
By long4trailsVerified Reviewer from Granada Hills, CA on 11/04/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Cold Weather
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Gear Usage:
Winter Sports
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Boot feels more supportive than the average pack boot. However, following many of the comments below, I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than my dress shoe size (9.5 vs 10), but they were just a tad too small (and fairly narrow at the toe). My foot is generally fairly narrow, so this surprised me (again, based upon the prior reviews). STP was out of a size 10 and 10.5 so I have to move on to another boot. I recommend you order close to your normal size, perhaps 1/2 larger.

Comments:
These boots are great. They fit well, are comfortable, very stylish and warm. I orginally ordered Columbia Bugalite boots but read some bad reviews from purchasers, so I exchanged them for the Sorel Timberwolf. I also read reviews on the Timberwolf and found no bad reviews, and there were many. One of the reviews recommended ordering them a half of a size smaller then you normally take, that was very accurate. I am a 12.5 and ordered a 12. it fits well.

Not Impressed
By WYO WintersportmanVerified Reviewer from Wyoming on 10/29/2009
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Not Comfortable, Not Warm
Best Uses:
Wet Conditions
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I bought these thinking the sorrel brand was a top notch brand and was very disappointed with the boot. It was like walking on cardboard they were so uncomfortable. They seemed really cheap as well, where they went a little light on the insulation, maybe a good rain boot, but not a winter boot. I sent them back and got a pair of Columbias WAY better.

Comments:
I work in the Forest Service I hike lot in the mountains of colorado so it can be wet and in the fall and spring, snow! So these guys are working great for me now, super warm and surprisingly stable for the rugged terrain i work in. But i don't see them lasting for say 4-6 months of abuse that i give them, don't think they were made for that but i only need them for about a month of work and they do the job. For anyone else doing less then that, they should last for a while. The only thing is, and i read it on other reviews...they run big!! i usually wear a 7.5-8 mens and i have the 7 and they still have a hair of extra room.

Comments:
I go to school in NYC and walk several blocks on each end of my subway commute. The most miserable way to spend the winter here is with cold feet. Fortunately that won't be a problem for me with these boots. They are spectacular.
