By The walker from Michigan on 01/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these boots so that I can keep up my daily walks in the cold winter weather. The boots are comfortable and flexible. I'll probably buy a customizable orthotic for them. I would not use these for extremely cold activities like snowmobiling or for serious winter mountain hiking. They are waterproof in snow, but I haven't tried them in sluch or wetter weather.

Super light Gore Tex Boot, great for summer hikes or cold weather bushwhacking. Fits close to street shoe.

By Run Gomer Run from Mid-Mich on 01/20/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Don't Breathe, Not Comfortable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for winter running with ankle support. These have all I need to run over packed snowy roads and off-road trails with traction device (Yaktrax) and I did not twist my ankle once. This was a fairly common occurrence in standard-cut trail shoes. Only problems were the following: Gore Tex does not breathe especially well under heavy workout sweating; also the insoles are flat, no arch support at all; and finally I have to wear duct tape over my Achilles to prevent major blister formation (might need to break-in a bit more). Otherwise, these are great boots, very lightweight, and a good choice for most outdoor activities. Great ankle support too. I chalk up the fit problems to my feet with high arch and instep.
