my short (petit wife) was contemplating spending 500 on custom waders. These work well as the bootie (foot) is not too big and the legs not too long.

Comments:
I love this jacket. I have the light smoke pants and they are my favorite for winter sports, so I figured I'd give the jacket a go. I've taken it snowboarding twice, and I love it. I've felt toasty in 30 degree weather.
I usually wear a small in Patigonia tops/jackets, but the medium (I'm 5'10" and 130lbs) gave me enough room to layer a fleece and likely a down vest within the jacket. I also love that the sleeves are extra long, which keep my wrists warm (unlike other jackets I own that are too short in the arms) because I can tuck my gloves into them.
