About Patagonia Shirts
|
The first Patagonia shirts were based on colorful but durable rugby shirts. While on a 1970 winter climbing trip to Scotland, founder Yvon Chouinard had the chance to try out local rugby shirts. When he returned to the U.S., fellow climbers showed interest in the design and a unique style of shirts was born. Patagonia shirts are made from organic fibers or one of several recyclable Capilene® fabrics, providing air-conditioned comfort in hot weather or moisture-wicking warmth retention in winter.

Patagonia is much more than an outdoor clothing company. Patagonia’s proactive approach centers on using products and processes that are least harmful to the environment... giving outdoor enthusiasts products that support the enjoyment and preservation of the earth and its delicate resources. Patagonia was the first outdoor clothing company to produce Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR®) fleece (made from plastic soda bottles) and began manufacturing their entire sportswear line of 100% organic cotton in 1996. Although it takes more time, knowledge and money to do so, Patagonia understands the importance of sustainable products and supporting bio-diversity and healthy ecosystems. Patagonia clothing is long-lasting, stylish and performance-driven to wick moisture, repel water and insulate during outdoor adventures. Donating one percent of sales to restoration and preservation of the environment and supporting over one thousand environmental grant programs, Patagonia is true to its promise to be "committed to the core." ... I like the details and quality of this jacket. It is a gem for the gal who wants to feel a bit dressed up in her fleece. To top of the style, it is reversible; two jackets in one!
